Sustaining Our Oceans
is an educational resource inspired by UNIQLO’s support for ocean education, developed in collaboration with UNESCO. We aim to open a new conversation—inviting everyone to understand the long-term importance of ocean conservation through learning experiences and inspiring stories from communities that have stood up to protect their own seas.
We hope this resource will spark community participation and nurture a sense of stewardship of the ocean among the younger generation.
SDGs Sustainable Development Goals
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) were adopted by all 193 United Nations Member States in September 2015. They consist of 17 goals focused on ending poverty, addressing climate change, building peaceful societies, and more—aiming to achieve these targets by 2030.
The Sustaining Our Oceans project is one initiative that supports Goal 4: Quality Education (inclusive and equitable quality education for all), Goal 14: Life Below Water (conserve and sustainably use the oceans and marine resources), and Goal 15: Life on Land (protect, restore, and promote the sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems).
